Goodwill celebrates 95 years at annual banquet

Goodwill Industries of North Louisiana celebrated its 95 years of services to north Louisiana at its annual banquet at Sam’s Town Casino on Thursday, June 10.
The noon event was attended by approximately 200 local community sponsors 
Goodwill has over 250 employees and operates six job centers and 20 workforce programs. It has 14 donation sites and nine retail locations.
During the past year, Goodwill served over 1,000 clients and placed over 360 people into community placements with a 90-day retention rate of 82%.
Goodwill’s revenue for the year exceeded $9.5 million.
Many awards were presented at the banquet.
Arthur J. Gallaher & Co., along with Heard McElroy & Vestal, LLP, received the Good Friends Award.
Shreveport’s Community Development Director Bonnie Moore and Bossier City attorney Ryan Gatti were presented the Good Champion Award.
Caddo Commissioner John E. Atkins and Shreveport’s Dollar Mania were named Donors of the Year.
The Council on Alcoholism & Drug Abuse of Northwest La. (CADA) was named as the Good Samaritan Partner.
Harold Dew received the Lawrence A. Shirley Graduate of the Year Award, which is named after the first president/CEO of Goodwill Industries of North Louisiana.
Kasei Collins was named the Achiever of the Year 
Goodwill’s history of lifting up communities provides a great example for the entire 26-parish region it serves.
