Hardette Harris, owner and chef of Us Up North in Shreveport, has achieved a significant milestone in the culinary world. Harris has been named as a semifinalist for a 2024 James Beard Foundation award.

Joy is a therapy dog and part of a group of dogs that regularly visits Henry L. Aulds Memorial branch of the Bossier Parish Library so that people can read to them. The Bossier Parish Library has partnered with a program called Alliance of Therapy Dogs for monthly reading nights.
The federal Bureau of Labor Statistics released employment information that reflects the state’s second lowest unemployment rate in history for the month of December. The seasonally adjusted data for the Shreveport MSA showed that the Shreveport MSA added 700 jobs from November 2023 and gained 1600 jobs from December 2022.
