GREEN THUMB SEMINAR SET AT AMERICAN ROSE CENTER APRIL 29

The American Rose Center will host its second quarterly 2017 Green Thumb Educational Seminar on Saturday, April 29.

The seminar will be held from 9 a.m. until noon in Klima Rose Hall at the American Rose Center, 8877 Jefferson Paige Road.

The seminar is free and open to the public. Registration is not necessary, but helpful to assure plenty of handouts.

The topic of the seminar is “Springing into Vegetables.” Included in the seminar will be Mary Eve Baskerville, NWLA Master Gardener, speaking on “Horticultural Recommendations for Vegetable Gardening in the Spring”; Brent Jeanesonne, NWLA Master Gardener coordinator, speaking on “Let’s Grow Tomatoes!”; and Kerry Heafner, Master Gardener coordinator for Ouachita Parish, speaking on “Historic Rosedown Gardens Including the Kitchen Garden.”

The talks will conclude with a question-and-answer session with the speakers.
