Domestic incident ends in stabbing

An early morning stabbing leaves a Shreveport man in serious but stable condition following a domestic incident that occurred at a west Shreveport home.

Just after 1:30 a.m. this morning, Shreveport Police were dispatched to a home in the 5900 block of Canal Street relative to reports that a man had been stabbed by a woman while the pair was inside their home.  Upon officers arrival at the residence, a woman, identified as 33 year old Tracy Johnson, was taken into police custody after allegedly stabbing her husband, 54 year old Curtis Johnson of Shreveport numerous times.  It is believed that the elder Johnson, who was stabbed upwards of half a dozen times, was asleep inside the home when the incident occurred.  Curtis Johnson was transported to LSUHSC  by the Shreveport Fire Department where he underwent surgery and is expected to survive.

Shreveport Police Violent Crimes investigators are working at this hour to determine what events may have led up to the stabbing.  Tracy Johnson, who has been charged with a single count of Attempted Second Degree Murder, was transported to a local hospital to undergo psychological evaluation.  The case remains under investigation.
