An ongoing investigation leads to the arrest of a Shreveport man accused of firing multiple shots at two men near south east Shreveport  last week.

Back on May 28, 2013, Shreveport Police officers responded to a shots fired incident reported near the intersection of Youree Drive at East Dalzell Street.  Upon officers arrival at the location, contact was made with two men who advised authorities that a man driving a dark colored sedan, possibly a Chevrolet Caprice, exited the vehicle brandishing a rifle and opened fire on them amid a verbal dispute. The suspect reportedly fled the scene driving the sedan, which police located abandoned a short distance away, near the 2500 block of Alberta Street.

Shreveport Police Violent Crimes detectives along with Crime Scene Investigators responded to the scene launching investigations into the matter which ultimately led to the procurement of a warrant for the arrest of 19 year old Cornell Prior.  Agents with the United States Marshals Fugitive Task Force were successful in taking Prior into custody on yesterday evening near the 700 block of Clyde Fant Parkway.  Prior, of the 2900 block of Round Grove Lane in Shreveport, was booked into the Shreveport City Jail on the warrant charging him with Illegal Use of a Weapon.  Bond in the matter has been set at 100,000.00.
