SHERIFF PRATOR PROMOTES TWO DEPUTIES, HONORS LONG-TIME EMPLOYEES


Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator has announced the promotions of Mark Gay to lieutenant and Zackery Thomas to sergeant.

Both were recognized during a ceremony Tuesday morning at the Re-Entry Facility on Forum Drive.

Gay joined the Caddo Sheriff’s Office as an EMT in 1992. He has also worked in the corrections and bailiffs divisions. With this promotion, he will serve as the lieutenant in the Court Liaison Division.

Thomas joined the sheriff’s office as a security deputy in 2010. He has served the past seven years at the Caddo Correctional Center and has also volunteered as an instructor at the CSO Youth Firearms Safety Education Camp. He is being promoted to shift sergeant in security.

Also during Tuesday’s ceremony, several employees received recognition for their years of service with the Caddo Sheriff’s Office. They are Marc Herring and Kelli Hayes, five years; Richard Robinson Jr., Judy Thomas and Phyllis Nickels, 15 years; Brad Acklin, Victor Bordelon, Anthony Gaines Sr., Randal Terrrell, Mike Vaitkus, Kimberly Rosborough and Garladen Story, 20 years; and Mike Gregory, 30 years.
