Shreveport man wanted in connection with April burglary

Shreveport police property crimes investigators are searching for a man they believe responsible for an attempted burglary at a local business back in April of this year.

On April 23, Shreveport police patrol officers responded to reports of an attempted burglary at King’s Grocery, 2403 Dr. Martin Luther King Drive, in north Shreveport. They arrived to find the exterior portion of the business severely damaged in what appeared to be an attempt to enter the building.

Investigators with Shreveport Police Department’s Property Crimes Unit conducted a follow-up investigation and were able to gather video evidence of the crime. Through witness interviews and information gathered at the scene, investigators were able to procure a warrant for the arrest of Jermaine Allen, 35, of the 3300 block of Bond Street, for one count of attempted simple burglary.

Allen’s bond was set at $75,000. Police are asking persons with information on Allen’s whereabouts to call Crime Stoppers at 673-7373 or visit the organization’s Web site at Lockemup.org.
