A suspect wanted in connection with a shooting that injured a Shreveport man last month has been arrested.
On May 20, Shreveport police officers responded to the 300 block of West 77th Street in reference to reports that a man had been shot there.
When officers arrived on the scene, contact was made with an adult male who was suffering from a single gunshot wound to the thigh. The victim, identified as 23-year-old Brian James, was transported to LSUHSC with what were described as nonlife-threatening injuries.
Detectives with the SPD’s Violent Crimes Unit arrived on the scene and launched an investigation.
During the ongoing probe, authorities gathered information linking 30-year-old Lucas Taylor to the crime.
On Thursday, May 30, authorities procured a warrant for the arrest of Taylor, who was arrested last Friday, May 31, by agents with the United States Marshals Fugitive Task Force. Agents found Taylor inside a home on Rose Circle in Bossier City.
Taylor was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Bossier City Jail on the outstanding warrant charging him with illegal use of a weapon.
Bond was set at $250,000 in the matter.
