Police seeking images for historical yearbook

PRESS RELEASE

Shreveport Police Department

In an effort to complete portions of the Shreveport Police Department’s Historical Yearbook, personnel from the department’s Yearbook Committee are making an appeal to the public, past service members, or family members of past service members of the Shreveport Police Department to provide images of themselves or their loved ones, either of whom have served our city honorably.

The Shreveport Police Department has a rich history spanning nearly 175 years, and the agency would like to build on preserving that history by asking people with photos or news articles relating to former members or past police chiefs of the department to provide them in consideration for use in the department’s yearbook.

The photos would greatly assist in efforts to move toward the department’s goal of completing a well-diversified and inclusive compilation of past and present departmental history.

All photos will be returned to their owners upon completion of the project.

Persons interested in supplying photos for the project are asked to contact Lt. Gayle McFarland at 673-6924 or Sgt. Don Visneski at 673-6955.
