Shreveport Police have released the name of the victim of a deadly stabbing over the weekend.

Shortly after 4:30 a.m. Sunday June 24, 2013, Shreveport Police responded to a stabbing at an apartment complex located in the 9000 block of Mansfield Road.  Upon officers arrival at the scene, the body of 56 year old Robert Williams of Shreveport was discovered inside the home.  Williams, who was pronounced dead at the scene was suffering at least one stab wound to the upper body.

Authorities arrested and charged Williams' girlfriend, 39 year old Betty Terrell of Shreveport, who was present inside the home on officers arrival.  In speaking with Terrell, information was gathered that she allegedly stabbed Williams, during the midst of a dispute between the two.  Shreveport Police Violent Crimes detectives along with Crime Scene investigators were called to the home where they immediately launched an investigation. During subsequent interviews with investigators, Terrell was taken into custody and now faces charges of Second Degree Murder.  Terrell was booked into the Shreveport City Jail. The investigation into the incident continues as authorities seek to gather additional details about what may have led to the deadly stabbing.
