Shreveport Police investigate alleged sexual assault

 Shreveport Police are investigating an alleged sexual assault that occurred early Saturday morning near west Shreveport.

 

Just after 5:30 a.m. this morning, Shreveport Police were dispatched to the 2500 block of Bert Kouns Industrial Loop relative to reports of a sexual assault.  Upon officers arrival at the scene, authorities met with an adult female victim who advised, that while walking in the 2500 block of Bert Kouns Industrial Loop, she was accosted by a male suspect who was armed with a handgun.  The victim reported to authorities that the man, upon accosting her, ordered her at gunpoint to a secluded location nearby where he proceeded to sexually assault her.  Following the assault, the suspect, described as a black male who stood approximately five feet-five inches tall and weighing between 130-145 pounds, fled the scene of the crime on foot.  The suspect reportedly wore a dark colored hooded sweat shirt and dark pants.

 

Detectives with the Shreveport Police Department's Sex Crimes Unit arrived on scene and initiated an investigation.  At this stage of the inquiry, authorities are working to identify and apprehend the person responsible for this crime.  Persons with information about this crime are urged to contact Caddo-Crime Stoppers at (318) 673-7373 or on their website at www.lockemup.org
