Shots fired investigation leads to arrest of local man
Shreveport Police have arrested a man who reportedly fired several shots this afternoon following a dispute near south west Shreveport.
Just after 1:30 p.m. July 15, 2013, Shreveport Police responded to the 200 block of West 80th Street relative to receiving reports of shots being fired in the area. Upon the arrival of officers, it was learned that Kenneth Wayne Robinson, 28 of Shreveport, was observed fleeing on foot a short distance from where the shots originated. Witnesses reported hearing roughly five to six shots being discharged. Fortunately no one was injured during the incident. Officers, following a search of the area, were successful in locating Robinson inside a home located in the 8000 block of Saint Vincent Avenue. Robinson was taken into custody without incident. Authorities additionally located a handgun inside the home believed to have been used during the commission of the shooting.
Shreveport Police detectives conducted interviews with Robinson, who was later charged with being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm. Investigation revealed that Robinson allegedly fired numerous shots following some sort of dispute involving a group of individuals that were known to him. Robinson was booked into the Shreveport City Jail on the aforementioned charge in addition to six unrelated misdemeanor warrants for varying offenses. At the investigation's current state, authorities are not seeking additional suspects in this matter.
