Man killed in apparent home invasion attempt

Shreveport Police are investigating an apparent home invasion attempt that has left a local man dead Saturday morning in west Shreveport.

Just after 3:30 a.m. on July 27, 2013, Shreveport Police were called to a home in the 3800 block of Murvon Street relative to a shooting.  Upon arrival at the residence, police discovered an adult male suffering apparent gunshot wounds to the upper body.  The man, who was identified as 24 year old Malcolm Fuller, was transported to LSUHSC where he later died.

Shreveport Police Violent Crimes detectives along with Crime Scene officials responded to the scene and immediately initiated an investigation.  Subsequent interviews were conducted at police headquarters with occupants of the home and potential witnesses to the incident.  During interviews, information was gathered that suggested a man dressed in all dark clothing, wearing a covering over his face, forced his way inside the occupant’s home armed with two handguns.  Police were told once the man entered the home, he demanded the occupants hand over money.  It was alleged during this time; a person inside the home observed what was taking place and subsequently engaged Fuller firing multiple times.  At this early stage on the inquiry, much investigation is yet to be done in efforts to gather additional details surrounding the shooting in addition to the possibility of charges in the matter.  Detectives at this hour are immersed in gathering and processing as much information as possible.
