Tipster, Facebook help catch burglary suspect

A caller to Crime Stoppers has helped authorities capture a suspect wanted in connection with a home burglary.

The caller notified Crime Stoppers on Monday after seeing wanted suspect Brandon chin on television.

Chin was wanted in connection with the July 13 burglary of a home in the 6700 block of Rasberry Lane and possibly other burglaries.

The tipster was placed in touch with investigators and told them that shortly after midnight on July 30 there was a posting on Facebook of the suspect and a female, whom the tipster identified as Gabrielle Murray.

Investigators were able to obtain an address for Murray and responded to the 6200 block of Frondosa Drive, where Chin was located and taken into custody.

Chin was booked on a charge of simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling.

He has been connected to at least three other residential burglaries and possibly more.

The caller to Crime Stoppers will receive $400 for information leading to Chin’s arrest.
