Shreveport Police investigate armed robbery
Shreveport Police are investigating the armed robbery of a Shreveport business early Tuesday afternoon near west Shreveport.
Just before 3:00 p.m. on August 13, 2013, Shreveport Police responded to an armed robbery of a the Quick Stop convenience store located in the 3000 block of Greenwood Road. On scene at the business, contact was made with an employee who advised a man armed with a handgun, entered the business and demanded money from the register. Upon receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect fled the business traveling northbound on foot.
Shreveport Police Violent Crimes detectives were called to the scene of the crime and immediately launched an investigation. Authorities learned that the man allegedly responsible for the robbery was wearing all dark clothing with a red covering over his face. The suspect was further described as a medium complexioned black male of approximately six feet and weighing roughly 170-175 pounds. Detectives have recovered surveillance video from the robbery that is currently under review. Authorities at this hour are engaged in actively seeking the identity and whereabouts of the suspect.
