Fatal crash on Hwy 527 in Bossier

On August 22, 2013, at 7:42 a.m., Troopers assigned to Louisiana State Police Troop G responded to a two vehicle fatal crash on Louisiana Highway 527 east of Louisiana Highway 157 that took the life of a Doyline woman.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2012 Nissan Sentra, driven by 35-year-old Yvonne Bellew of Doyline, was traveling west on Louisiana Highway 527 when it passed a 2006 Mack 18-wheeler, driven by 44-year-old Scott Wallace of Zwolle that was also traveling west on Louisiana Highway 527. The Nissan maneuvered to the right appearing to make a right turn onto Johnson Koran Road. The Nissan then abruptly turned to the left directly in front of the Mack. The Mack struck the Nissan on the driver’s side door.

Wallace was properly restrained and did not report any injuries. Bellew was properly restrained. Bellew suffered fatal injuries as a result of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Bossier Parish Coroner’s Office.

Alcohol use is not suspected. A toxicology sample was taken and submitted for analysis. The crash remains under investigation.
