Overnight shooting leaves one man dead; second man injured

A double shooting in Shreveport's Allendale neighborhood this morning, has claimed the life of a local man and left another victim with serious injuries.

Just before 1:00 a.m. on September 6, 2013, Shreveport Police patrol officers responded to the 600 block of Pierre Avenue relative to reports of a shooting.  Upon arrival at the scene, patrolmen discovered two victims each suffering multiple gunshot wounds.  Both men were transported to LSUHSC, where the most critically injured victim, 44 year old Terry Golston was pronounced dead.  The second shooting victim, 24 year old Jecobi Walker of Shreveport, underwent surgery and is expected to survive.

Shreveport Police Violent Crimes detectives along with Crime Scene investigators responded to the scene of the crime launching an immediate investigation.  Preliminary investigation suggests robbery may have been a motivating factor in the shooting; however no conclusive motive has been established at this point.  Authorities are in the very early stages of their inquiry and are currently gathering and processing evidence recovered on the scene in efforts to identify and apprehend the person or persons responsible for this crime.  Those with any information regarding this crime are urged to contact Caddo Crime Stoppers immediately at (318) 673-7373 or on their website at www.lockemup.org
