Suspect in park shooting arrested
Shreveport Police Department
Shreveport police have arrested a suspect in connection with a shooting that sent a local man to the hospital earlier this month.
Back on Oct. 13, Shreveport police were called to the Southern Hills Metro Park in reference to a shooting in which 18-yearold Jamarisai Wade of Shreveport sustained a single gunshot wound to the leg.
Wade was treated at University Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries and is expected to recover fully.
Since the shooting, Shreveport police violent-crimes investigators have been working to expand leads in the investigation.
Their efforts led to the arrest of 18 -year-old Lloyd D. Ivory of the 3800 block of Doris Avenue in Shreveport.
Ivory surrendered to authorities at police headquarters under mounting pressure last Friday night, Oct. 18. Evidence gathered during the inquiry linked Ivory to the shooting.
Ivory was subsequently booked into the Shreveport City Jail where he was charged with one count of aggravated battery.
