Shooting leaves man injured

Shreveport Police are working to identify and apprehend the person or persons responsible for an overnight shooting in Shreveport's Queensborough neighborhood that injured a local man.

Just after 9:00 p.m. on October 28, 2013, Shreveport Police officers responded to a reported shooting in the 3100 block of West College Street. Upon arrival, patrolmen contacted the victim, identified as 61 year old Napoleon Gilbert, and subsequently discovered he had not been shot but was indeed slightly injured during the incident. Gilbert was treated by the Shreveport Fire Department.

Detectives were notified and, based on information and evidence gathered during the early stages of their ongoing inquiry, determined Gilbert was in his home there on West College Street when at least one suspect outside of the residence began firing shots. Gilbert’s home was struck several times. Anyone with any information regarding this shooting is urged to contact Shreveport-Caddo Parish Crime Stoppers at 318-673-7373 or www.lockemup.org
