Southern Trace sports new look for 2013
Southern Trace Country Club, a proud member of the ClubCorp family of clubs, has completed a major clubhouse renovation project in celebration of 25 years as one of the premier country clubs in Shreveport.
The club held a ribbon-cutting last Thursday afternoon, Oct. 24, to officially unveil the stylish new décor, expanded dining areas, and social and golf features designed to enhance daily life for the private club members of today.
Expanded dining and social features include:
— New Arthur’s Bar and Grill, a modern setting where members can grab a cocktail or light bites between activities or dine in style with friends and family on a new and innovative menu.
— New Anytime Lounge and Media Area, featuring several flatscreen TVs with Surroundsound.
— New Pro Shop and en trance, offering the latest in golf gear and apparel, the pro shop, which overlooks the 9th and 18th greens, now features a patio area with umbrella tables and rocking chairs.
“Southern Trace Country Club has been a centerpiece of Shreveport for 25 years,” said Kevin Coppins, general manager. “This renovation project, coming during a milestone anniversary, has rejuve nated the club, giving members even more opportunities to gather and entertain family and friends.”
“The members are very excited about the many changes and improvements,” said Steve Skrivanos, who serves as club chairman of the board of governors. “There is a lot of pride among the club membership in belonging to the club and the sense of community it fosters, and these renovations will only enhance that experience.”
Surrounded by celestial pine valleys, open meadows and majestic oak forest, Southern Trace Country Club in Shreveport offers a championship golf course, named by Golf Digest as one of the top 10 golf courses in Louisiana. Amenities include six lighted tennis courts, an Olympic-sized pool and a 37,000-square-foot clubhouse with dining, fitness and spa facilities.
