Man arrested after shooting pet dog in front of child
A Shreveport man has been arrested on a charge of felony cruelty to animals after he shot a 10-year-old girl’s pet dog with a firearm, killing the animal.
Clarence Lloyd Dunivan, 75, of 526 Woodmere Drive in Shreveport, was arrested Saturday after fatally shooting a poodle belonging to a neighbor child.
Dunivan reportedly knelt down in front of his front door and shot the dog in front of the child.
Shreveport Police Chief Willie Shaw said it is not known why Dunivan killed the animal.
He was arrested by Shreveport police and later transferred to the Caddo Correctional Center.
