Traffic stop turns into drug bust; two arrested

PRESS RELEASE Bossier City Police Department

Bossier City police arrested two Texas men Thursday morning on drug charges following a traffic stop on Interstate 20.

Police arrested 20-year-old Shawn Moskwa of San Antonio and his passenger, 20-year-old Dorian Givens of San Marcos, after an officer stopped Moskwa’s car for speeding while traveling eastbound in I-20 near Interstate 220.

Upon obtaining consent to search the vehicle, officers utilized a Bossier City police dog and recovered approximately one quarter pound of what drug dealers consider to be high-grade marijuana known as Kush, along with seven grams of methamphetamine. The drugs carry a total estimated street value of $3,100.

Agents with the Bossier Narcotics Task Force responded to assist officers with the investigation and subsequently booked Moskwa and Givens into the Bossier Maximum Security Facility on charges of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute.

Officers also issued Moskwa a citation for speeding and impounded his vehicle.
