Two narcotics operations net 28 arrests

Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator and Shreveport Police Chief Willie Shaw announced that the Caddo- Shreveport Narcotics Unit conducted two operations earlier this month in an attempt to curtail the transportation and sale of illegal narcotics through Shreveport and Caddo Parish.

The operations were conducted on Nov. 1 and 5.

Agents with the Caddo- Shreveport Narcotics Unit and Louisiana State Police conducted numerous undercover purchases, traffic stops and terry stops in and around the city of Shreveport and Caddo Parish during the two-day operation.

As a result, law enforcement officers were able to buy and seize drugs, confiscate weapons and make numerous arrests. Authorities seized 169.9 grams of marijuana, 2.7 grams of crack cocaine, 22.5 Xanax, $1,121 and two handguns.

The successful operation netted a total of 28 arrests for various offenses.

The following persons were arrested: a juvenile suspect for possession of marijuana; Demarcus Robinson, 26, on a fugitive warrant; Brandon Gilliard, 24, possession of marijuana second offense; Richard George, 21, possession of marijuana second offense; Beuntai Hayes, 17, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute; Anjanette Berry, 38, possession of marijuana; Charles Berry, 17, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute; Devarian Noyes, 18, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute; Sherry Broussard, 49, possession of schedule II drugs (cocaine) and possession of schedule III drugs (Xanax); Michael Hawthorne, 43, possession of schedule III drugs (Xanax) with intent to distribute; Patricia Jackson, 56, possession of marijuana; Christopher Gantt, 24, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute; Jarmarcus Williams, 21, illegal possession of a firearm; Romedro Dean, 28, possession of marijuana second offense; Kevin Copeland, 41, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute; Sanjuan Eason, 32, possession of marijuana second offense; Robin White, 31, possession of marijuana; Travis Thomas, 25, distribution of marijuana; Melvin C. Johnson Jr., 36, distribution of schedule II drugs (cocaine); Katrina Ford, 33, distribution of schedule II drugs (cocaine); Shericka Marston, 26, distribution of schedule II drugs (cocaine); Simone Small, 23, distribution of schedule II drugs (cocaine), prostitution and resisting an officer; Rosko, 28, distribution of marijuana derick Broadway, 30, distribution of schedule II drugs (cocaine); Goldie Walker Jr., 28, distribution of schedule II drugs (cocaine); Quentin Shepherd, 34, distri- bution of marijuana; Gregory Turner, 26, possession of marijuana second offense; Desmond Mar- and resisting an officer; and Santavius Bailey, 25, distribution of marijuana.
