Free child safety seat check-up event to take place Saturday

The Louisiana Passenger Safety Task Force will hold a free child safety seat check-up event from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, November 23, at North Point Community Church, 4204 Airline Drive, in Bossier City.

Nationally certified technicians will be on hand to inspect your child’s safety seat, show you how to properly install the seat in your vehicle, adjust the seat to your child, and provide other valuable information for making every ride a safer one.

The Louisiana Passenger Safety Task Force is a coalition from many professions including fire and law enforcement, health care, social services, and others dedicated to reducing injuries and deaths from motor vehicle crashes through public information and education.

Motor vehicle crashes are the number one killer of people aged 3 to 33.  Officials say nine out of 10 safety seats are not properly fitted or installed. Proper restraint use can greatly reduce your chances of being killed or injured in a crash.
