Search underway for suspect in fatal shooting that claimed the life of a Shreveport man
A local man is dead and authorities are now searching for a killer following a shooting in west Shreveport Friday evening.
Just before 10:30 p.m. on November 29, 2013, Shreveport Police Patrol officers were called to a home located in the 3800 block of Huston Street relative to a man who had reportedly been shot there. It was on the arrival of officers, they discovered an adult male victim lying in the front yard of the residence suffering what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body. The victim, identified as 41 year old Marcus Wright of Shreveport, was rushed by Shreveport Fire Department medics to University Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries.
Shreveport Police Violent Crimes detectives along with Crime Scene investigators were called to the scene of the incident, where they immediately launched an inquiry into the shooting. Based on information gathered during the preliminary phase of the investigation, authorities believe Wright was shot amid a dispute regarding some aspect of a transaction involving the sale and distribution of illegal narcotics. Authorities are feverishly working to develop leads in the matter and seeking the public’s assistance in uncovering information that will hopefully help lead to identity and apprehension of the suspect (s) responsible.
