Police arrest suspect in shooting of teenager

Bossier City police have arrested a teenager in connection with an attempted armed robbery and shooting that left another teenager injured.
Laterreon Morrison, 17, of Bossier City was arrested Sunday on charges of attempted armed robbery with a firearm and aggravated battery after police responded to a shooting Saturday at approximately 8:30 p.m. at the intersection of Traffic and Wyche streets.
The shooting victim, a 16-year -old male, told police that he was walking with his brother when they were confronted by three male subjects, one of whom attempted to rob them.
When the two brothers ran away, one of the subjects, later identified as Morrison, fired multiple gunshots at them.
One of the rounds struck the 16-year-old in the shoulder, re sulting in what appeared to be a superficial, non-life-threaten -ing wound.
The victim and his brother continued to run to their home two blocks away, where officers later made contact with them.
Bossier City Fire Department personnel transported the victim, who was not identified, to University Health in Shreveport for treatment.
Detectives working with the Armed Robbery Task Force responded and were able to develop Morrison as a suspect. Morrison was taken into custody several hours later and was booked into the Bossier City Jail. He was subsequently transferred to the Bossier Maximum Security Facility.
The investigation is continuing.
