Shop With a Cop treats youths to shopping spree

Last Thursday, Dec. 19, Bossier City police officers took approximately 50 children Christmas shopping at the Wal-Mart Super Center, 2536 Airline Drive, for the Shop With a Cop program sponsored by Bossier City Police Local 645 and the Bossier Chapter of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge No. 39.

Bossier City police officers accompanied the children and shopped for Christmas gifts for them with funds raised locally by members of Local 645 and the Bossier FOP chapter and given generously by members of the public.

Each child was pre-selected from Bossier City elementary schools based on their families’ financial needs.

Along with providing children in need with Christmas gifts, the Shop With a Cop program also helps build positive relationships between children and police officers.
