Nightclub brawl injures two; two arrested
Three local men were arrested early Sunday morning following an altercation at a downtown nightclub.
Just after 2 a.m., Shreveport police officers were dispatched to an assault and battery call at the Phoenix Underground nightclub located in the 600 block of Market Street.
When officers arrived, they learned that a physical altercation had occurred inside the nightclub involving several patrons and members of the club’s security personnel.
No exact cause of the fight has been determined.
During the incident, two men tried to break off the altercation and suffered minor injuries after being cut with a broken glass bottle.
Police arrested three men who were allegedly involved in the brawl. Vincent Zelaya, 24, of the 8500 block of Jackson Square Boulevard in Shreveport, was arrested and charged with aggravated battery and disturbing the peace by fighting.
Also arrested in the melee were 23-year-old Nelson Zelaya and 23-year-old Saulde Camacho, both of Shreveport. Both men were charged with disturbing the peace by fighting.
Following their arrested, the three men were booked into the Shreveport City Jail.
