Ongoing: “Autographing History,” an exhibit of 54 documents, letters and receipts bearing the signatures of famous historical figures including presidents George Washington, John Adams and Thomas Jefferson, Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr, Benjamin Franklin, Napoleon Bonaparte, and many more. The collection on loan from Gloria B. Meyer of Shreveport and the late Charlton E. Meyer Jr. is on display at the Louisiana State Exhibit Museum, 3015 Greenwood Road.

Ongoing: Yogie & Friends Exotic Cat Sanctuary, Louisiana’s only rescue for abused, neglected and unwanted large cats is open to the public on Saturdays only from noon to 5 p.m., weather permitting. Each Tuesday through April 29: Grief Support Groups Spring Session, A Place That Warms the Heart is an organization that provides grief support services in a caring and compassionate environment to allow each individual or family member grieve in his or her own way. Different groups meet

Every third Saturday of the month: Southern Christian Writer’s Club, meets from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the Calvary Abundant Life Tabernacle, corner of Bethel Road and Highway 84 East in Logansport, La. Its mission is to help and encourage writers share their love of Jesus with others through publishing. Writers in both religious and secular writing are welcome. Membership is $20 per year. April 2: 4th Annual Vernon Gobert Memorial MDA Golf Tournament, at Old Oakes Golf Course, 60 Golf Club Drive in Haughton. The tourney will be a four-player scramble and cost $100 per player. Proceeds go to Muscular Dystrophy Association. April 12: Walk MS Shreveport 2014. The National MS Society will host a walk to raise money to raise funds to support multiple sclerosis research, programs and services. Through April 8: Natchez Spring Pilgrimage of Antebellum Homes. Twenty-seven antebellum mansions, most of them private residences, open their doors to visitors during this four-week Pilgrimage every spring. Your guides are costumed family friends and descendants of the original owners, whose stories are as real as the bricks and mortar in their hearths.
