Woman in custody following stabbing
A Shreveport woman accused of stabbing a man was taken into custody last Friday, March 21, after a suspicious person call led to her arrest.
Just before 8 a.m. Friday, Shreveport patrol officers responded to a suspicious person call at a home in the 300 block of Herndon Avenue in the Highland neighborhood.
Information was presented to officers that a woman who reportedly stabbed a man earlier that morning was located at the residence.
When officers arrived at the home, they found 41-year-old Sonya Hayes sitting on the front steps of the residence.
She was promptly taken into custody without incident.
Hayes was sought in connec tion with a stabbing that had occurred just after 4 a.m. that morning at a home in the 300 block of Herndon Avenue. Investigators gathered information that suggested Hayes stabbed 52- year-old Herman Davis as he slept inside the home. Hayes was reportedly staying inside the residence when the incident occurred.
Davis sustained minor injuries and was transported to University Health Medical Center, where he is expected to fully recover.
Following her arrest, Hayes was booked into the Shreveport City Jail.
