Kite Fest Louisiane` to celebrates 10th year
April 5 & 6 are the 2014 dates for Kite Fest Louisiane`.
This year marks the 10th anniversary for this one-of-a-kind, award-winning festival. The festival has grown from its inaugural year from 2500 attendees to over 20,000 in 2013. The first-ever popular student day had 250 school children and now hosts on average 2500 to 3000 students.
Fly teams from all over the United States are coming once again to perform for the crowds. Kites of all sizes and shapes will fill the skies above the soccer complex on Rosedale Road. Indoor flying demonstrations, two- and four-line kite ballet performances, BOL races
for children, candy drops, kite design contests, make-a-free-kite booth, face painting and special children's inflatables will be on hand, and a big favorite, the bubble man, will be back this year.
There will be plenty of Louisiana food and beverage, kite and T-shirt vendors.
Visitors are urged to bring your kites, lawn chairs, blankets and don’t forget the camera for a day of family fun. Please leave the pets at home.
Hours are from noon to 6 p.m. at Exit I-10 #151, Hwy. 415 to Rosedale Road. The event is free and open to the public. Go to www.west batonrouge.net.
