Two injured in shooting in west Shreveport

Two men are recovering from injuries sustained in a shooting in west Shreveport.

At about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, Shreveport police officers were dispatched to Willis- Knighton Medical Center on Greenwood Road in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival, they learned that Tyreon Woodard, 18, and Christopher Jackson, 19, had arrived at the emergency room in a private vehicle, both suffering from at least one gunshot wound.

Woodard was transported to University Health Center with potentially life-threatening injuries but is expected to recover. Jack son was treated and released.

Based on information collected, detectives believe Woodard and Jackson were traveling west on Interstate 20 near Monkhouse Drive when another vehicle pulled alongside them, and the occupants began firing shots at them.

Investigators think the shooting stems from an ongoing dispute between the victims and a known male suspect.

Authorities have tentatively identified at least one of the suspects they believe was involved in this crime. Anyone with any information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 673-7373.
