Suspect arrested for aggravated battery
A local man wound up behind bars Tuesday morning following his alleged involvement in an aggravated battery in west Shreveport.
Just after 3 a.m. on Tuesday, Shreveport police patrol officers responded to a reported carjacking in the 4300 block of St.
Louis Avenue. Upon the officers' arrival at the scene, contact was made with the complainant, who provided officers with information claiming to have been victim of a carjacking. The victim claims he was standing outside a home with friends when they were approached by a group of three men who were said to be armed with handguns.
After reporting being struck in the face by one of the armed men, the victims alleged seeing the suspects drive off in vehicle belonging to one of the victims. Neither victim was seriously injured in the incident. Authorities located the victim’s vehicle parked at his home. Shreveport police robbery detectives were called to investigate the matter, during which time information was gathered linking 20-yearold David King of the 4300 block of St. Louis Avenue to the crime. King was located at his home and taken into police custody. Following his arrest, King was booked into the Shreveport City Jail charged with three counts of aggravated battery.
