Police seek suspect in shooting that injured teen
A suspect is being sought in connection with a shooting that injured a 16-year-old male Sunday night in west Shreveport.
At about 11:10 p.m., Shreveport police officers responded to a residence in the 600 block of West 73rd Street in reference to a shooting.
When officers arrived, contact was made with witnesses at the scene who said that a 16-year-old male was wounded after he was caught in apparent crossfire between a group of men who were arguing at another location.
The 16-year-old victim, who suffered a single gunshot wound to the arm, was treated at the scene and later transported by family members to University Health Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
During the course of the investigation, authorities learned that an exchange of gunfire erupted between a group of men near the 6900 block of Union Avenue. It is believed that the teenager was riding his bicycle near the area when he was grazed by one of the fired rounds.
Authorities are working to determine the identities and whereabouts of those persons who were involved in the incident.
