Caddo sheriff’s summer recreation program set to begin on June 2

The annual youth summer recreation program sponsored by the Caddo Sheriff’s Office kicks off on June 2, providing safe summer activities for area youngsters.

Children and teens ages 10 to 18 can participate in basketball and table games like checkers, cards and dominoes from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays.

The activities will be held in the gymnasiums at North Caddo High School on Airport Road in Vivian; Huntington High School, 6801 Rasberry Lane in Shreveport; and Booker T. Washington High School, 2104 Milam St. in Shreveport.

Each location is supervised by instructors provided by the Caddo Parish School Board.

Pre-registration is not required, and there is no fee. However, participants are required to sign in. The program will continue through July 10.

For more information on the summer youth program, call the sheriff’s Community Programs Section at 681-0875.
