Bank robbers being sought by police

Bank robbers are on the loose

Two suspects are being sought by authorities this evening after committing a brazen armed robbery at a west Shreveport bank this morning.

Shortly after 9:00 a.m., Shreveport Police officers responded to the Capital One bank located in the 6100 block Greenwood Road relative to an armed robbery.  Upon officers arrival at the business, witnesses told police that two masked men, armed with guns and dressed in dark jumpsuits, entered the bank ordering everyone to the ground.  Witnesses told authorities that one of the suspects accosted an unsuspecting customer from outside the bank, forcing the woman inside the business at gunpoint. Once both suspects were inside the bank, at least one of the men allegedly fired a shot into the ceiling.  The suspects, both described as black males approximately six feet tall and weighing between 170-180 pounds, made off with an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing the business driving a late model, orange colored, Dodge Challenger.  There were no reported injuries during the hold up.   A little over an hour following the robbery, authorities located the car believed used in the heist abandoned on Jefferson-Paige Road near Sandra Drive.  The car had been reportedly stolen from a local dealership some time during last night.

Detectives with the Shreveport Police Department's Tactical Robbery Unit arrived on scene at the bank along with Crime Scene investigators launching their inquiries into the robbery.  At this time, authorities are anticipating the release of surveillance footage in efforts to identity and apprehend those persons responsible for this crime.  Police are urging anyone with any information about this crime to contact Shreveport-Caddo Crime Stoppers at (318) 673-7373 or Shreveport Police at (318) 673-6955.
