Parents, police search for runaway teenager

The parents of a runaway teenage girl are hoping that the public can help police locate her.

Jessica Prince, 15, apparently ran away from her mother’s home in the 1900 block of Highland Avenue Wednesday at about 11:30 p.m.

Her father, Herman Johnson, said that he alerted the Missing Persons Unit at the Shreveport Police Department, but wants to involve the public in the search as well.

Johnson said that Prince’s mother called him and said that she had run away. “She didn’t give any clues. She just came into the house quiet,” he said.

Johnson said that Prince was upset because he had recently confiscated her cell phone because she was not using it properly. “She wasn’t too happy about that,” he said.

Johnson said she was attending summer school at Southwood High School and had just returned home from Vacation Bible School when she left.

Johnson suspects that she had help in leaving the property.

Anyone with any information regarding Prince’s whereabouts should call Missing Persons at 673-7020.
