Shooting in Allendale leaves man injured

Authorities are working to identify and apprehend the person responsible for injuring a local man during an afternoon shooting that took place in Shreveport’s Allendale neighborhood.

Just after 12:15 p.m. Tuesday, Shreveport patrol officers responded to a reported shooting outside of a store in the 300 block of Pierre Avenue.

When patrolmen arrived, they discovered 59-year-old Eddie George suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the lower body.

George was subsequently transported to University Health Center by fire department personnel with serious but non-lifethreatening injuries.

Based on information and evidence gathered during the early stages of their ongoing investigation, detectives believe that the victim was walking out of the Pierre Avenue store when he was approached by a male suspect who attempted to rob him.

During the course of the robbery, the suspect produced a handgun and fired several shots at George before fleeing the scene of the crime on foot.

The suspect is described as a black male in his late tees or early 20s.

Anyone with any information regarding this crime is urged to contact Shreveport-Caddo Parish Crime Stoppers at 673-7373 or online at www.lockemup.org.
