Suspect arrested in theft from coin business

Shreveport police have arrested a suspect accused of stealing more than $50,000 worth of jewelry from a local business last week.

On June 4, police were called to the Louisiana Coin Exchange in the 5800 block of Line Avenue in reference to a theft from the business.

When officers arrived at the location, store employees reported that two men entered the business acting as through they were interested in making a purchase.

As the men browsed through the  store, one of the men distracted the clerk while the other man began removing items from one of the store’s display cases and concealing them on his person.

After making a heist of thousands of dollars in merchandise, the men left the store.

Since the theft, investigators have released video footage from er feedback, have been able to afternoon and booked into the Shreveport City Jail charged with Authorities are still looking for the second man observed in the that the second suspect’s arrest the business, and thanks to view- make an arrest.
