Police obtain warrant for suspect in shooting
Shreveport police detectives have procured a warrant for the arrest of a man who is accused of shooting a victim multiple times earlier this month.
Just after 12:15 p.m. on Wednesday, June 3, Shreveport patrol officers responded to a reported shooting outside of a store in the 300 block of Pierre Avenue.
When they arrived, patrolmen discovered 59-year-old Eddie George suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the lower body.
George was subsequently transported to University Health Center by Shreveport Fire Department personnel with serious but non-lifethreatening injuries.
Based in information and evidence gathered during the ongoing investigation, detectives were able to link 22- year-old Ladarius Williams to the crime.
Authorities believe Williams shot George in an apparent robbery attempt as George was walking out of the store on Pierre Avenue.
During the course of the robbery, Williams reportedly produced a handgun and fired several shots at George before fleeing the scene of the crime on foot.
The warrant for Williams’s arrest charges him with a single count of attempted firstdegree murder. Bond has been set at $200,000.
Anyone with any information regarding this shooting or the whereabouts of Williams is urged to contact Shreveport-Caddo Parish Crime Stoppers at 673-7373 or online at www.lockemup.org.
