Police seek two suspects in home invasion
Suspects claimed to be police officers
Shreveport police are searching for two armed suspects who committed a home invasion at a west Shreveport residence Tuesday morning.
Just after 2 a.m., Shreveport police were called to a residence in the 8000 block of Gilmer Bayou Lane in reference to a home invasion.
When officers arrived at the scene, contact was made with the victim, who told them that she was awakened from her sleep after two men, both armed with handguns, kicked in a door to her residence, made entry and demanded money and valuables at gunpoint.
The victim reported that the men claimed to be Shreveport police officers.
The victim was inside the home with her two minor children at the time. The victim was not hurt during the ordeal.
After running off with their ill-gotten goods, the suspects fled the home on foot and were last seen running northbound behind the neighborhood.
One of the suspects was described as a black male of stocky build, approximately 6 feet tall, armed with a handgun.
The second suspect was described as a black male of thin build, approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall, with large eyes, wearing a darkhooded sweatshirt and armed with a handgun.
