DA’s Office gives drug forfeiture money to Bossier Sheriff’s Office

The Bossier/Webster District Attorney’s Office presented a check last Thursday, June 12, to the Bossier Sheriff’s Office as part of an asset forfeiture allocation in multiple drug and other investigations.

Assistant District Attorney Charles Jacobs gave the check in the amount of $15,962.57 to Bossier Sheriff Julian Whittington.

The funds represent vehicles, other property, money and bank accounts that were seized in 23 different cases, primarily narcotics.

Sheriff Whittington and Bossier City Police Chief Shane McWilliams joined forces in October 2012 to develop the Bossier Combined Narcotics Task Force to combat illegal drug activity throughout Bossier Parish.

“Our combined narcotics team does an outstanding job in keeping illegal drugs off of the streets of Bossier Parish,” Sheriff Whittington said.

“These funds presented by the DA’s Office represent a lot of hard work by our team and will help with our continued fight against illegal drug and criminal activity.”
