Bossier City police arrest would-be thief

Bossier City police arrested a woman Sunday after she reportedly stole some items from a man staying at a local hotel.

Bossier City police responded to a call from the man, who was staying at the Rodeway Inn and Suites on Hilton Drive. The man told officers that he believed the female suspect had stolen some items out of his room.

Officers responded and made contact with the suspect, identified as 24-year-old Blair Grantham, who was still on the property.

Grantham initially gave officers a false name and admitted to taking the items, which police recovered from a backpack she had been carrying.

The victim told officers he did not wish to pursue charges since the items were returned to him.

Officers took Grantham into custody on a charge of resisting an officer due to her providing a false name.

Upon arrival at the Bossier City Jail, Grantham refused to  get out of the patrol car. After a few minutes, the transporting officer was able to have her exit the vehicle, at which time she attempted to run away while still in handcuffs.

However, the officer was able to quickly apprehend her and escorted her into the jail.

While Grantham was being booked into the jail, police learned that she had seven outstanding bench warrants out of Shreveport. She was subsequently booked as a fugitive.
