Suspects sought in shooting that sent man to hospital Sunday afternoon
Shreveport Police are seeking the identities and whereabouts of a suspect who reportedly fired shots injuring a local man Sunday afternoon.
Just after 2:00 p.m. on Sunday June 29, 2014, Shreveport Police were called to the 4200 block of Linwood Avenue relative to a shooting. Upon arrival at the scene, it was learned an employee of a nearby tire shop suffered minor injury to the hand after being struck by an apparent stray bullet. The male victim was taken to University Health Medical Center for treatment of injury considered non life-threatening.
It was learned during a probe of the incident, two cars; a grey Dodge sedan along with a red colored Dodge sedan, were traveling south bound on Linwood Avenue approaching Corbitt Street when the grey vehicle reportedly pulled onto the parking lot of the tire shop. Police gathered information suggesting the red vehicle stopped alongside Linwood Avenue and began firing rounds from a handgun towards the grey Dodge sedan. It was during that time, the employee, who was standing outside the business was struck. Following the shooting both cars sped away from the scene. There were no other injuries reported. Investigators are working at this hour to determine what led to the shooting and ask anyone with information about the crime to contact Caddo Crime Stoppers at (318) 673-7373 or on their website at www.lockemup.org
