Troopers arrest three for cocaine possession
Three people were arrested on drug charges after cocaine was found in their vehicle following a traffic stop early Tuesday morning.
A Louisiana State Police trooper assigned to Troop G stopped a Chevrolet van for a traffic violation on Interstate 20 east of Bossier City.
The driver of the vehicle, 39- year-old Jose R. Segovia Ayala of Houston, Texas, gave consent to search the vehicle.
During the search, troopers discovered approximately 4.5 pounds of cocaine hidden in the vehicle.
Ayala was placed under arrest and charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine and conspiracy to distribute cocaine.
Two other occupants of the vehicle, 21-yearold Uriel Coria- Coria and 44- year-old Israel Miranda, both of Houston, Texas, were also arrested for possession with intent to distribute cocaine and conspiracy to distribute cocaine.
The estimated street value of the seized cocaine is $86,400.
Ayala, Coria and Miranda all face up to 45 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000 if convicted of these crimes.
All three were illegal immigrants and were booked into the Bossier Parish Maximum Security Facility.
They face additional charges through the Department of Homeland Security and the deportation process.
