Man sought in alleged kidnapping
Shreveport police are seeking the whereabouts of a man accused of kidnapping a local woman Monday afternoon in west Shreveport.
Just before 3 p.m. Monday, Shreveport police patrol officers were called to a home in the 1400 block of Doris Street in reference to a reported kidnapping.
When officers arrived, information was obtained indicating that an adult female living at the house was kidnapped at gunpoint by her estranged ex-boyfriend, forced into a silver sedan and driven off.
During authorities’ probe of the crime, the alleged suspect reportedly returned to the victim’s home, where he is said to have dropped her off nearly three hours after the ordeal began.
The shaken victim suffered only minor injury after allegedly being battered by the suspect.
The suspect, who was reportedly armed with a rifle, fled the scene driving what was described as a silver or graycolored, four-door vehicle believed to be a newer-model Chevrolet Malibu.
Investigators are in the process of procuring an arrest warrant for the man, whose name will be released at that time.
Police urge anyone with any knowledge about this crime to contact Caddo Crime Stoppers at 673-7373 or on their Web site at www.lockemup.org.
