Burglary Suspect Captured By K-9 - By Chris Redford

The man suspected of forcing his way into a house and attacking a woman inside is in custody after losing a fight with a Caddo Sheriff's K9.

Brandon Lee Gibson, 27, was captured just before 6:30 Friday night outside a house on Hampton Lane.

Hicks was the focus of a nearly two hour manhunt in the Lakeview area of Caddo parish.  Neighbors say they saw him jumping fences and running through backyards.

Investigators say Gibson went to a house on Dellwood Avenue, forced his way inside, attacked the woman and took off with some stolen property.

The woman's family say Gibson hit her across the head and ripped her shirt off before she managed to escape to a neighbor's house and call for help. She was taken to the hospital to be treated for non life-threatening injuries.

Gibson was also taken to the hospital to be treated for at least three dog bits.

Deputies say he tried to fight a sergeant, a deputy and a K-9.  The K-9 fought back and won.

Authorities say Gibson had been staying at the house on Hampton Lane where he was found.  Deputies also found the black bag he reportedly used to keep the stolen items.

Investigators say they seized a small amount of crack cocaine from inside Gibson's pocket.

Detectives say Gibson faces a long list of possible charges including aggravated burglary, battery, resisting arrest and possession of drugs.
