Ongoing: “Autographing History,” an exhibit of 54 documents, letters and receipts bearing the signatures of famous historical figures including presidents George Washington, John Adams and Thomas Jefferson, Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr, Benjamin Franklin, Napoleon Bonaparte, and many more. The collection on loan from Gloria B. Meyer of Shreveport and the late Charlton E. Meyer Jr. is on display at the Louisiana State Exhibit Museum, 3015 Greenwood Road. Every Wednesday: The Society of St. Vincent de Paul at Sacred Heart Catholic Church provides assistance to those families or persons in the community who are in need. Services range from provided assistance with utility bills, rent, feeding the hungry, even providing gasoline for those who need to get to a new job. Every Wednesday from 9 a.m. to noon, gro ceries, clothing, shoes and household items are given to those who need them. The church is located at 4736 Lyba in west Shreveport near the airport. Every third Saturday of the month: Southern Christian Writer’s Club, meets from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the Calvary Abundant Life Tabernacle, corner of Bethel Road and Highway 84 East in Logansport, La. Its mission is to help and encourage writers share their love of Jesus with others through publishing. Writers in both religious and secular writing are welcome. Membership is $20 per year.
