Suspect faces charges in shots-fired incident

A local man faces charges following his alleged involvement in a shots-fired incident in west Shreveport.

Shortly after 4 p.m. Monday, Shreveport patrol officers were called to the 9000 block of Bayonne Drive relative to reports of a man firing a weapon into an unoccupied vehicle.

When officers arrived, a vehicle was found suffering structural damage from gunfire. No one was injured during the incident.

Officers were presented with information suggesting the suspect fled the scene in a tan-colored, four-door sedan.

Based on additional information obtained, officers arrived in the 2500 block of Lakecrest Street, where a vehicle fitting the description of the suspect’s was located.

Shortly thereafter, police located and detained Kenneth Griffin Jr., 20, who was interviewed by investigators.

Authorities believe Griffin’s acts may have stemmed from an ongoing dispute involving him and another man over allegations of property damage.

Griffin was charged with illegal use of a weapon and booked into the Shreveport City Jail.
