Man arrested following alleged kidnapping
Authorities have arrested a Shreveport man accused of kidnapping a woman from a Shreveport Casino earlier this morning.
Just after 2:00 a.m., Shreveport Police were called to the
300 block of Clyde Fant Parkway relative to a welfare concern. Upon
officers arrival at the business, contact was made with the victim who advised
officers that while walking through the parking garage, she was accosted
by her ex- boyfriend who reportedly grabbed her from behind while she
was not looking. The victim alleged that the man, after grabbing her,
forced her back to her vehicle.
The victim informed authorities that after being placed
into her vehicle, the man held her there and attempted to drive out of the
parking garage with her. As the man neared the exit ramp of the parking
structure, the woman somehow managed to flee from the car, escaping to
safety.
The man later identified as 33 year old George Arnold
of Shreveport, was later arrested by Shreveport Police after returning to
the scene of the incident. Arnold surrendered to police without
incident. Following a subsequent investigation by detectives, Arnold
was booked into the Shreveport City Jail where he is charged with a
single count of simple kidnapping.
